The Façade

A series of short graphic/model exercises focused on a variety of themes and the influence those themes have over the way we think and develop the design of the façade.

The Layered Façade

Minimum of 3 layers that step forward and/or backward from a main plane.

The Deep Facade

The Deep Façade

Minimum of 3 planes that step forward and/or backward from a main plane, creating a defined space(s) in the gap between the forward and rearmost planes.

The Frame

Minimum of 3 planes on the surface of façade beyond the plane of glass.

The Venetian Façade

Minimum of 3 planes on the surface of façade beyond the plane of glass, exploring dynamic balance with local symmetry of symmetries within an overall asymmetrical composition.

The Rotational Façade

Minimum 3 planes on the surface of façade beyond the plane of glass, exploring dynamic balance with possible local symmetry or symmetries within an overall asymmetrical composition that displays rotational symmetry.

The Difficult Whole

Minimum 3 planes on the surface of façade beyond the plane of glass, with the goal of inducing tension between parts that are threatening to separate.

The Deep Façade Revisited

Minimum of 3 planes that step forward and/or backward from a main plane, creating a defined space(s) in the gap between the forward and rearmost planes. Explore the depth of the façade as revealed through warping, tilting or curvature.
